Wild Beast Gardening provides professional garden care, planting, garden design and landscaping across Sussex. We work with gardens of all shapes and sizes, helping customers care for established spaces, improve tired areas and create gardens that feel natural, practical and full of character.

Meet Peter
Wild Beast Gardening is owned and run by Peter Newnham, who began working professionally in gardening in 2006 before undertaking an RHS course at Plumpton College.
Working across gardens of different styles and sizes gave Peter a strong grounding in practical garden maintenance. As his knowledge developed, plants, nature and the wider potential of garden design became an increasingly important part of his work.
Peter took over the gardening business from his college teacher in 2016 and began developing a more plant-focused and environmentally considered approach. Since then, his work has expanded to include creative planting, garden redesign and larger landscaping projects, alongside regular garden care.

Peter’s approach is based on observation and long-term thinking. A garden does not always need to be changed all at once; often the best results come from improving it carefully over time, retaining what works and allowing the space to develop naturally.
A Thoughtful Approach to Gardens
We believe every garden should be treated individually. Our recommendations consider the existing plants, soil, wildlife, practical requirements and the style you would like to achieve. Where possible, we work with nature rather than against it, using environmentally considered methods and helping customers create healthier, more wildlife-friendly outdoor spaces.

Based near Steyning, Wild Beast Gardening works across Brighton, Hassocks, Henfield, Partridge Green and surrounding areas of Sussex. We can also travel further afield for larger garden design and landscaping projects.
