What We Do

Complete garden design, from simple borders to complex multi-acre sites, from hedgerows to tropical gardens…

Maintenance of gardens including mowing, hedge cutting, weeding, pruning and strimming. We are able to remove waste.

We take a space from an initial concept to realisation, over many months or years, providing guidance and suggestions.

A brand new service that will be launching shortly, we are blending different composts to suit your gardens exact requirements.

We are now able to offer professional pressure washing for your driveway, paths, walls, and other hard surfaces.

We will begin selling rare and unusual plants from mid-2022. Please look out here for more information.

Jungle Vision Landscapes

In addition to a garden design and build, where we manage a project from start to finish, Wild Beast Gardening offers a design-only service, for those that want to organise the physical work and supplies themselves. This part of the business comes under Jungle Vision Landscapes.

Wild Beast Gardening Uses Sustainable Products

Peter Newnham

We’re proud to say that we’ve removed harsh, environmentally damaging chemicals from our range of treatments. All products are now organic, and meet high standards for sustainability.

In our climate we must adapt to the ever changing world. We may have to change materials, resources, plants and methods of gardening here in the UK.

But there is a lot to be grateful for and to look forward to. In the UK we are lucky to be able to grow a lot of different varieties hardy enough to withstand our unstable and uncertain winters. Now it’s time to bring in the new age of plants, the ones that will adapt to our journey as humans grow to respect the environment.

Plant of the Moment

Here we feature plants that have caught our attention recently.

Shown top right of the image is Pseudopanax crassifolius var. Trifoliolatus, a tall, elegant and long-fingered plant.

Brilliant Hardy to -10 degrees evergreen tree which can be can be pollarded to keep the funky foliage for a fabulous structural open shrub. Also amazing if left to grow into a tree.

Our Catchment Area

Wild Beast Gardening is based in the Steyning area of Sussex, working across Brighton, Hassocks, Henfield and Partridge Green (and further afield for larger jobs).

Summer 2022 (Astronomical)

Have You Thought About..?

‘Have you thought about..?’ is where we make some topical suggestions for you to consider for your own garden.

This time, we have clumps of Common Dogwood (Cornus sanguinea) ‘midwinter fire’, to bring some much-needed colour to these cold winter days.

Cornus can be deciduous shrubs or trees or creeping, woody-based perennials, some with brightly coloured young stems. Tiny flowers are borne in dense clusters, sometimes with showy bracts.
